Orchid 2

The slipper orchid is a fascinating flower.  This small original painting is a wonderful gift for someone who grows orchids or simply loves interesting flowers. 

The sides of the canvas are painted so there's no need for a frame. This forms part of my Stripped Naked series in which I explore taking color out of the subject.

This is an original painting. I paint these small miniatures in order to study my subject before committing myself to a more complicated textured work.
