This asparagus painting has sculpted elements in paper and has a subtle 3 dimensional aspect. The crisp white background really makes the vegetable pop from the wall. A fabulous piece of kitchen art that will be a conversation piece for sure.

This painting is worked on wood and is framed in a floating professional frame. To care for your painting, simply run a feather duster over it occasionally.

TECHNIQUE:

The technique you see here was developed by me over a 6 year period. I wanted to find a way of working that no one else was doing so that I could produce truly unique works of art. It has taken many experiments and many failures before I finally arrived at a method that works and is long lasting.

The basic method is that the subject is first drawn out roughly and then shapes are drawn out to be sculpted of paper. All the shapes then have to be transferred to the paper, cut out and glued in place. The work is then sealed using a product to stop the paint being absorbed too much by the paper. Only then is the work painted in either acrylics or oils. The entire work is then sealed.
